Trinity Motors as a Land Rover Main Dealer have become aware of an apparent spate of spare wheels being stolen from Range Rover Sports and Discovery SIII
Understanding the implications of being initially stranded without a spare wheel, the associated cost of replacing the spare wheel and winch, loss of insurance excess, and the inconvenience, we felt a solution was required.
We have therefore designed and manufactured a simple but effective solution. The “Wheel Saver” is designed to restrict access to the winching mechanism that secures the spare wheel beneath the vehicle; this renders it near impossible to steal the spare wheel.
The “Wheel Saver” could not be simpler to fit, ether at home or as part of the standard Landover service. The wheel is lowered from inside the vehicle, the winch shackle is passed through the “wheel saver” disc, and the cable protection tube is passed over the cable spring and secured with the slot washer. Finally winch the wheel assembly back in the usual way. “Wheel saver” will now ensure your spare wheel is protected from unauthorised attempts at removal.
