Hyundai has charted new waters – the top ten of the UK sales chart! The Korean company's i10 has been a massive hit with British buyers, with 3084 finding homes last month, making the i10 the ninth most popular car in July. 


Hyundai posted a 48% jump in quarterly net profit to a record high as a weaker won helped offshore sales and government measures boosted local demand, helping it outperforms global rivals.
 
Hyundai and its affiliate Kia are expected to continue to draw support from a weak currency, increased appetite for smaller cars and an improving brand image, analysts said.

June set to be a historic month of sales for Hyundai
The first of four ships loaded with brand new Hyundai cars has just docked at Tilbury in Essex and unloaded 1,100 i10 city cars. All of them are to be processed within the next few days and sent straight out to dealers across the UK, where scrappage customers are eagerly awaiting their new cars.

Hyundai once again has figures to be proud of. Sales data for the first quarter of 2009 has just been released, and shows that both the month end and 2009 total figures were positive for the Korean giant, particularly in comparison with the rest of the market.  Hyundai was down a mere 1.85% on last year – a highly successful achievement in a market that is down by 29.7%.

January brought misery to most motor manufacturers, with overall sales in Britain down 30.9 percent. But there was one company trouncing the trend and showing a significant increase in sales compared to the previous year – Hyundai.
