![]() Hiroshima, May 27 –– The success of the Mazda2 and newly-launched Mazda6 helped lift production at Mazda's Japanese factories by 23.1% in April compared to April 2007.
Total production of Mazda2 –– known as Demio in Japan –– was 15,920 in April, a year-on-year increase of 165.9%.
Mazda6 –– Atenza in Japan –– was up 63.1% year-on-year at 13,661 units while CX-7 saw a rise of 60.4% year-on-year to 5,191 units.
These successes helped lift Mazda's passenger car production for the first four months of the year to 366,983 units, an increase of 22.5% over the first four months of 2007 28th May 2008

The award, from the UK's leading monthly fleet title, was presented at a special ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club, London, on 13 May.

The Mazda BT-50 4x2 Single Cab pickups, powered by a 2.5‑litre 143ps turbocharged common rail diesel engine, are being used by West Yorkshire-based Jiffy Trucks for the production of its all-new Mezze catering truck.

![]() The tax-busting and environmentally-friendly credentials of the all-new Mazda6 were instrumental in the upper medium contender winning the Best New Car award at the 2008 Fleet World Honours. The award from the UK's leading monthly fleet title was presented at a special ceremony held at the Royal Automobile Club, London, today (Tuesday, May 13).
The new Mazda6 went on sale at the turn of the year and remains an ‘appealing fleet proposition', according to the judges, due to its low benefit-in-kind tax bills and fuel economy as a result of engineering initiatives to slash emission levels. Mazda has retained and built upon the original model's sportiness and design flair. ![]() Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that it will receive the ‘Outstanding Technical Paper Award 2008' at the prestigious 58th Annual Society of Automotive Engineers of Japan (SAEJ) awards ceremony to be held in May.
Mazda will be honoured for its in-depth analysis of the combustion mechanism of catalysts in diesel particulate filters. Mazda has been conducting research into combustion mechanisms to eliminate particulate matter, mainly soot, from diesel engine exhaust emissions. 7th May 2008
